TALENTED children from the North-East will take on the iconic role of Jane Eyre in a new production.
Ten-year-old Jasmine Weatherill, from Hartlepool, will share the part of the classic character with eight-year-old Wynyard youngster Olivia Gosney.
The pair will take to the stage as part of a new musical based on Charlotte Bronte’s much-loved novel.
They will portray Jane during her time at Gateshead and Lowood as the audience follows the journey of her life.
The musical, written and directed by award-winning Anne Dalton, will be staged at Billingham Forum from Wednesday, February 22 until Saturday, February 25.
Ms Dalton said: “The part is bigger than most juvenile lead roles in musicals and I am delighted to have found two youngsters who are just perfect for the role.”
Red House School pupil Olivia will perform on Wednesday and Friday, while keen musician Jasmine will take the part on Thursday and Saturday.
Other youngsters from across the region will join them on stage as part of the ensemble cast.
