TRAFFIC was brought to a standstill on a North East road on Sunday after a bus caught fire.
The broken down vehicle blocked traffic at Station Lane and The Front, Seaton Carew, during a busy period on Sunday (March 27) afternoon.
Videos shared by onlookers show smoke billowing from the vehicle as pedestrians moved out of the area.
Cleveland Police and Cleveland Fire Brigade attended the scene at around 2.30pm, with police officers on site to manage traffic queues.
Pictures shared on social media show a Stagecoach bus parked in the middle of the road with a flap at the back open.
Traffic has returned to normal.
