A car was left destroyed after an incident that saw a road closed.
Emergency services were called to the A19 at South Kilvington, near Thirsk, at around 3.45pm following reports of a vehicle fire on the stretch of road.
Firefighters blocked off the A19 during the incident and moved the vehicle to the side of the road, where an image, shared by Thirsk Fire Station, showed the car smouldering and smoke billowing from it.
The caption accompanying the images from Thirsk Fire Station said: "Currently at a pickup on fire on the A19 Northbound slip at South Kilvington. Access to the A19 North is closed while we deal with the fire."
A follow-up statement from North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that the car was extinguished and made safe.
A spokesperson for the fire service added: "A crew from Thirsk responded to reports of a fire to a small vehicle. Crews used small tools, spreaders to access the bonnet, a hose reel jet, two breathing apparatus and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire."
