A section of the A1(M) was closed this evening after a large vehicle was engulfed in flames on the County Durham/North Yorkshire border this evening.
Emergency services were alerted to the incident, reportedly involving a motorhome, on the northbound carriageway of the A1(M) near the junction for Piercebridge at about 7.30pm on Monday (October 7)
One fire engine from North Yorkshire and two from County Durham were in attendance.

A spokesperson for the North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "We can confirm we were called to reports of a large vehicle on fire on the northbound carriageway, just past the junction for Piercebridge.
"An appliance from Richmond attended and assistance was requested from the County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service."
