NORTH YORKSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

NORTH YORKSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (PROHIBITION OF MOTOR VEHICLES EXCEPT FOR ACCESS) (COLBURN VILLAGE) EXPERIMENTAL ORDER 2014

NOTICE is hereby given that on 27 January 2014 North Yorkshire County Council made an Order under Sections 9 and 10 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit any motor vehicle from proceeding along the roads in Colburn Village specified in the table below, except for access to premises or land adjacent to those roads in circumstances detailed in the said Order, for an experimental period of eighteen months.

A Copy of the Order, which comes into operation on 10 February 2014, together with a map showing the roads affected and a statement of the Council's reasons for making the Order, may be inspected at County Hall, Northallerton and at Colburn Library, The Broadway, Colburn, Catterick Garrison, North Yorkshire DL9 4RF during normal office hours from 31 January 2014 until 11 August 2014.
The County Council will be considering, in due course, whether the provisions of the Order should be continued in force indefinitely. Within a period of six months from the coming into force of the Order, or if the Order is subsequently varied or modified, from the coming into operation of that variation or modification (whichever is the later), any person may object to the making of an Order for the purposes of such indefinite continuation.
Any person wishing to object to the indefinite continuation of the Order must state the grounds for their objection, in writing to "Area 1 Richmond Highways Office, Gatherley Road Industrial Estate, Brompton on Swale, Richmond, North Yorkshire DL10 7JQ" by 11 August
2014.
If any person wishes to question the validity of the above Experimental Order or of any provision contained in it, on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act, or of any instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, they may, within six months of 27 January 2014 make application to the High Court for that purpose.
