(UNC. ROAD 34.12 CONSTANTINE ROAD BITCHBURN) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2014
The Council, on 14.02.14, made an Order under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, as amended, its effect being to close to vehicular traffic to enable carriageway reconstruction works to be undertaken a 1185m length of Constantine Road between its junctions with C18a Rumby Hill Bank and North Bitchburn Bank. The maximum duration of the temporary closure under the Order is 18 months and is required from 17.02.14 for the duration of the works, anticipated to be 6 weeks. However, on rare occasions, alternative dates for
closures may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly.
An alternative route will be available to vehicular traffic from the northern side of the closure from C18a Rumby Hill Bank south westwards to Howden le Wear onto A689 then south eastwards along A689 and continuing onto North Bitchburn Bank to the southern side of the closure, and vice versa.
