(UNC. 34.4 WEAR CHARE, BISHOP AUCKLAND TO C96 LONG LANE NEAR BINCHESTER & SECTION OF UNC. 34.4 LEADING NORTH TO SPRINGBANK ROAD, NEWFIELD) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2014

The Council, on 13.03.14, made an Order under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, as amended, to close 5.2km of Unc. 34.4 from junction of Wear Chare/North Bondgate, Bishop Auckland to The Batts; north to C96 Long Lane junction, nr. Binchester & section of Unc. 34.4 leading north to Springbank Rd., Newfield, to enable drainage & carriageway resurfacing works to be undertaken. The max. duration of the closure under this Order is 18 months and required from 7am w/c Tues 18.03.14 for 4 days & w/c Mon 24.03.14 for 5 days and for the duration of the works. However, on rare occasions, alternative dates for closures may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly. Alternative route: from the northern side of the closure, NE along Primrose Hill, Newfield to Todhills, SE along C96 Long Lane via Binchester to the A688, south on A688 then west at the roundabout along C130 Durham Rd. to Bishop Auckland/ North Bondgate on the southern side of the closure and vice versa.
