APPLICATION FOR LISTED BUILDING CONSENT PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT WITHIN A CONSERVATION AREA AND AFFECTING THE SETTING OF LISTED
BUILDINGS

Proposed development at Melsonby Methodist Primary School, West Road, Melsonby, Richmond, DL10 5ND.

I give notice that the Corporate Director of Children & Young Peoples Services is applying to North Yorkshire County Council for Listed Building Consent for an existing external stone rubble retaining wall to be demolished and re-built using the existing stone to a new low level with new coping stone finish and with a new timber panel fence fixed on top.

In the opinion of the County Planning Authority, the proposal affects the setting of Melsonby Methodist Primary School, West Road, Melsonby, Richmond, DL10 5ND, a building which has been listed as being of special architectural or historic interest.

The part of Melsonby within which the proposed development is situated has been designated a Conservation Area under the above Act as the area is of special architectural or historic interest the character of which it is desirable to preserve or enhance.

Members of the public may view the application, the plans, and other documents submitted with the application at Richmondshire District Council, Zetland Square, Dundas Street, Richmond, North Yorkshire during all reasonable hours until 1st August 2014. The application may be viewed using the Online Planning Register on the County Council's web-site www.northyorks.gov.uk Written representations should be made to Planning Services, County Hall, Northallerton, DL7 8AH by 1st August 2014 or e-mail to planning.control@northyorks.gov.uk quoting the above application number.
