PUBLIC TO BE CONSULTED ON NEW STRATEGIC MIXED USE DEVELOPMENT IN NORTH NORTHALLERTON

PUBLIC TO BE CONSULTED ON NEW STRATEGIC MIXED USE DEVELOPMENT IN NORTH NORTHALLERTON

The developers of a proposed new strategic mixed use development comprising residential and commercial along with land for community uses including playing fields, allotments and a new primary school in North Northallerton are inviting members of the public to consider their plans to develop this strategic allocation as set out in the Hambleton Allocations Development Plan Document. The proposal also includes a new strategic link road and bridge over the rail line. Mulbery Homes (Yorkshire) Limited, Persimmon Homes and Taylor Wimpey have been in discussions with senior officers from Hambleton District Council and will shortly be submitting plans to create a new strategic expansion of North Northallerton over a fifteen year period. Phase 1 will comprise approximately 300 residential dwellings to the east of Darlington Road and to the west of Stokesley Road as well as the implementation of the link road leading to the bridge crossing as part of an overall outline planning application which will be accompanied by a detailed Masterplan notating zones where different types of development will take place. The scheme will deliver the key objectives of the Core Strategy in line with Hambleton District Council’s aspirations for the site. The plans reflect the Council’s Development Plan Document for a strategic site to the north of Northallerton and build upon the approved Masterplan for the site which was also the subject of public consultation. A public exhibition showing the plans is to be held at the Golden Lion Hotel in Northallerton in the Mowbray Suite on Monday 13th April 2015 between 2 p.m. and 9 p.m. All members of the public are welcome and encouraged to attend.
