NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION

NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF A PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDER HIGHWAYS ACT 1980, WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981 YORKSHIRE DALES NATIONAL PARK AUTHORITY FOOTPATH NO. 14, BURTON-CUM-WALDEN, DIVERSION ORDER 2011 On 3 July, 2012, The Secretary of State for the Environment confirmed with modifications the above Order made under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980 and under Section 53A(2) of the Wildlife & Countryside Act 1981. The effect of the order as confirmed is to divert the public footpath running from a point at a field gate, west of Adambottom Farm, West Burton, Grid Ref SE 0273 8911, east north east to a pedestrian gate and continuing between the wall-side and the building to a pedestrian gate before heading north easterly and then north, north easterly to a field gate and continuing northerly for approximately 110 metres to a field gate at Grid Ref SE 0288 8934, onto a line running from the same point as above, west of the Farm, in a north, north westerly direction to a field gate entering the woodland and bearing north easterly for approximately 180 metres to a pedestrian gate and continuing parallel to the riverbank in a north, north east direction to a field gate at Grid Ref SE 0288 8934 as shown on the Order map. A copy of the Order and the Order map have been placed and may be seen free of charge during normal office hours at the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority Offices at Yoredale, Bainbridge, Leyburn DL8 3EL until 24 August, 2012. Copies of the Order and map may be purchased there and at the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority Office at ‘Colvend’, Hebden Road, Grassington, Skipton BD23 5LB, at a reasonable cost. The Order comes into force at the end of 28 days from the date of confirmation, but if a person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act, as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within 6 weeks from 13 July, 2012, make an application to the High Court.
