YORKSHIRE DALES NATIONAL PARK AUTHORITY TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS, CYCLISTS AND HORSE RIDERS (Footpath No.16 and Bridleway No.21 [part] Carlton Highdale) ORDER 2012 No.3 Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Section 14(1) (as amended) Notice is hereby given that the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any pedestrian, cyclist and horse rider from proceeding along part of Bridleway No.21 Carlton Highdale from Horsehouse Grid Reference SE 0474 8134 to its junction with a Footpath near High Gill Grid Reference SE 0413 8148 in the district of Richmondshire; and also to prohibit any pedestrian from proceeding along Footpath No.16 Carlton Highdale which runs in a loop from Bridleway No.21 near Horsehouse Grid Reference SE 0470 8137 to re-join the Bridleway near High Gill Grid Reference SE 0431 8152, from 23/7/12 until 22/1/13 inclusive. The Order is necessary to enable the laying of water pipelines. It is envisaged that the works will be undertaken within 6 months. The closures will be put into effect by notices and signs on site. Alternative routes will be: Pedestrians, cyclists & horse riders:- From Horsehouse follow the County vehicular road south-westerly to Braidley then take the Bridleway running northwards to a junction of two Bridleways at Fleensop Moor Grid Reference SE 0265 8144. Pedestrians only:- Alternatively (1) from Horsehouse follow the County road south-westerly for a short distance then take the Footpath to the right for 650 metres across fields returning to the road for a further 1.3km to Braidley, then follow the Bridleway as described above; or (2) use the Public Footpaths from Horsehouse via Hindlethwaite Hall and Arkleside to Braidley, then follow the Bridleway from Braidley as described above.
