DICKINSON Mary Ramsden For many years a midwife for the community of Topcliffe, Thirsk, Mary passed away peacefully at Leeming Garth Care Home aged 101 years. A dear sister to the late Ted and the late Michael, a much loved auntie to Julia and Simon, a very much loved great-aunt to Leona, Henry, Kane, Hannah, Thomas and Hannah Joy. Service to take place at St. Columba Church, Topcliffe at 2.00pm, Monday, March 11. Family flowers only by request, donations in lieu if so desired to The Red Cross.

My earliest memory of 'Auntie Moll' goes back to about 1950. She had been drafted in by my mother Debbie Sharpe to babysit two very small boys for an evening. We were being bathed in a tin bath in front of the fire. I had been done and it was now the turn of my brother. I remember watching this from a vantage point which can only have been the mantlepiece (!) or one of the shelves in the cupboard. We survived.
I grew up to know Moll better, as I did her two brothers. I liked the Dickinsons very much - good solid people. The passing of an age. Much sympathy.
