STUDENTS at Richmond School staged a special matinee performance of The Wizard of Oz for primary school pupils, care home residents and former students.
The 134-strong cast and crew impressed their audience on Wednesday ahead of the opening night yesterday – the play runs tonight and tomorrow and is close to selling out.
The school’s leader of community arts, Ian Henderson, said: “We always do a matinee performance for local primary schools and it is always good to see pupils who want to get involved when they move up to secondary school.
“It creates a real buzz in the school every year and I am extremely proud of the cast and all the backstage crew – the children have done everything from designing and making costumes to sound and lighting and making the programme.”
