Richmond: Bouncers, Lucky Eric, Judd, Les and Ralph are the original men in black as they tell the tale of one night in a Yorkshire disco in the 1980's, in this outrageous parody of Saturday Night Fever. All the gang are out on the town; the boys, the girls, the cheesy DJ, the late night kebab man and the taxi home - all under the watchful eyes of the Bouncers. Stockton: Varmints, there was once only the sound of bees and the wind in the wiry grass, the low murmuring of moles in the cool dark earth, and the song of birds in the high blue sky. Varmints tells the heart-warming tale of one small creature’s struggle to preserve a world in danger of being lost forever. Every day the city grows larger and the noise grows louder, until there is so much noise that no-one can hear themselves think. This exhilarating show is choreographed by hip hop dancer Wilkie Branson and directed by children’s theatre specialist, Sally Cookson. Based on the award-winning book by Helen Ward with beautiful illustrations by Marc Craste, Varmints is a fun and interactive piece of original dance theatre for young people and their families. York: The Magic of Motown Britain’s biggest Motown spectacular returns with an all-new, all-star show celebrating 50 years of the label’s legendary artists in the UK. Featuring more chart toppers than ever before, featuring music by the Four Tops, Supremes, Temptations, Jackson 5, Isley Brothers, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross, Lionel Richie and more. The show marks the official arrival of Motown style, sophistication and musical brilliance to these shores. In 1965 the Tamla Motown Revue saw the Supremes, Temptations, Miracles, Stevie Wonder and Martha Reeves famously touch down in Britain for a 42-show nationwide tour. This, coupled with an accompanying appearance on TV’s Ready, Steady, Go! established Motown in the UK.
