A TRIO of young girls proved you are never too young to think of others when it comes raising funds.
Chloe Harris, Aimee Sygmuta and Georgia Langley all wanted to do something for the Sport Relief charities.
So the 12-year-olds, all members of Bedale Junior Football Club, got together to organise and compete in a mini triathlon.
The first leg involved running 1.6 miles from McDonalds car park at Leeming Bar, through Aiskew to Bedale Leisure Centre.
Between them the trio then swam a mile – 64 lengths – of the local pool before completing the final stretch – a 1.6 mile bike ride back through Aiskew to the McDonalds car park.
And with generous sponsorship from family, friends, fellow members of the football club and teachers at Bedale High School they managed to smash their original target of £400 and have to date raised more than £755.
“We as parents are all very proud of what the girls have achieved – and all of it was done through their own efforts,” said mum Anita Sygmuta.
