A PHOTOGRAPHIC exhibition which seeks to explore and document everyday life in rural parts of North Yorkshire has opened at the Rural Arts gallery, in Thirsk.
The black and white images captured by Ampleforth resident Lucy Saggers aim to highlight “invisible connections among the community”.
The photographer, whose exhibition will run until October 19, said she felt an urgency to document contemporary rural life, before it was replaced by “ubiquitous modernity”.
She said: “It is ordinary life that I would like to bring into my photography, because it is ordinary life that is so important, so everyday that we often stop seeing its beauty.”
The exhibition follows the photographer showcasing her work at the Great North Art Show at Ripon Cathedral and Mall Galleries, London, earlier this year.
