A village is celebrating after generous donations and fund-raising allowed a defibrillator to be installed at the community centre.
Kind-hearted residents in Middleton St George helped raise money to pay for the life-saving equipment and donations were also received from Middleton St George Cricket Club and the Parish Council.
The defibrillator was bought from London Hearts - a charity that helps communities get defibrillators and teaches life-saving skills.
Louise Seniscal, Vice Chair of the Middleton St George Community Association, which runs the community centre, said: “"The immediate delivery of CPR and early use of a defibrillator gives a person in cardiac arrest the best chance of surviving.
“The community centre is used by a lot of groups and is an important focal point for the village so we are delighted there is now a defibrillator here.
“The whole community came together to raise the funds needed and we are particularly grateful to the cricket club and parish council for their generous donations.
“This is a fantastic example of the village coming together to look after each other.”
