Joy as Flavours of Herriot Country Awards to return for 2022

Now in their ninth year, the awards celebrate the best of food and drink businesses in Herriot Country, covering Richmondshire and Hambleton.

The 2022 awards will be held on Monday, May 9, 2022, at Solberge Hall, near Northallerton.

Elly Fiorentini, BBC Radio York presenter, will be hosting and presenting the awards, which will feature 12 categories, offering an ideal opportunity for businesses to be recognised for their achievements over the past year.

The awards are easy to enter, and there are some top tips on what the judges will be looking for to help people complete their nominations. The award category criteria, how to enter, and what support material you can include can be viewed here.

The closing date is midnight on Monday, February 14, 2022.

Tickets for the awards are £25, and will be available to buy once the finalists have been announced.

The judging process involves some of the most experienced and highly regarded food and drink experts in the region, headed by chair of judges, Susie Brindley, who said: “I am absolutely thrilled to be back again, chairing the judging process for the Flavours Of Herriot Awards 2022.

"After an enforced break, our return is even more welcome as this will be an opportunity to recognise and reward the resilience and fortitude of our amazing Herriot Country businesses, producers and makers. The tough process of selecting the finalists and winners for the 2022 awards will be carried out by our independent judges, and once again, I have no doubt that this will be an incredibly hard task for everyone concerned.
