THE wet and wild weather failed to deter many hundreds of visitors who enjoyed a real treat over the last two weekends, as probably the biggest collection of rare snowdrops in the North East were on show at the Tudor Croft garden in Guisborough.
Owner, Mike Heagney, plants rare snowdrops in discreetly labelled clumps for all to enjoy, and more than 300 different named varieties were on display.
Many visitors went home happy with a treasured new snowdrop to add to their own collections.
Special snowdrops are now much sought after and only this week one, Galanthus ‘Golden Tears’ sold at auction for £1,850.
Tudor Croft garden will be open again with displays of summer flowers on the weekends of June 18/19 June and July 2/3.
