A NORTH Yorkshire B&B has been named the best-rated in the world for the second year running in Tripadvisor's 20th annual Travellers’ Choice Awards.
Tripadvisor, the world’s largest travel guidance platform, has announced its Best of the Best Awards for Hotels today and Scarborough’s The Toulson Court retains its title of world’s best B&B after first winning the coveted accolade last year.

Run by couple Angela and James Rusden, the B&B is located close to the seaside town’s Peasholm Park and a short walk from Scarborough beach.
And despite being named the best in the world for the second consecutive year, a delighted James remains humble about the title and said their focus is always on providing the best possible service for the best value for money.
He said: "We are absolutely ecstatic, it is amazing.
"We only took it over in June 2016 so we haven't even been here six years but we have won it twice, it is phenomenal, it really is amazing.
"We never thought we'd get to number one in the UK, let alone in the world.
"And if you look at the other top UK B&B, Boutique 25, and compare what they offer, the size of their rooms and everything compared to us, they are incredible - but it'll cost you £230 per night.
"We are a family-run B&B that'll cost you £85 per night.
"We always do our best to give our customers everything they need for the best value for money."
James admitted that the couple felt the pressure was on after they first won the ‘best in the world’ title last year.

He said: "We did worry that we would be put on a pedestal - we're not The Ritz or The Savoy or anything.
"People might come and say they stayed in better place in the Lake District and drank from crystal glasses, but they'll have paid £250 per night for it.
"What you are getting from us is amazing service and everything you need at a good price."
James thanked all the customers who have left the glowing reviews that ensured The Toulson Court retained its title.
"It's all thanks to them and our repeat customers are very important to us,” he said.
"It's nice to think that we go out of our way to make sure our customers have a great stay and they will then go out of their way to write a good review for us."
The Toulson Court is joined in the top rankings by three other fellow North Yorkshire B&Bs in Tripadvisor's top 25 in the UK.
Franklin Mount Boutique Guesthouse in Harrogate, Stow House in Aysgarth and Mill Croft Bed and Breakfast in Goathland rank 10th, 12th and 17th in the UK respectively.
Another notable North Yorkshire winner is Yorebridge House in Bainbridge which placed 24th in the UK’s Most Romantic hotels list and 25th in the Luxury category
The 2022 Travellers’ Choice Best of the Best Awards are based on the quality and quantity of traveller reviews and ratings posted on Tripadvisor over the 12-month period from January 1, 2021 to December 31, 2021.
