A MUSEUM volunteer was presented with a leaving gift after 35 years of service.
Frances Greenwell, chairman of Great Ayton's Captain Cook Schoolroom Museum Trust, made the presentation to 88-year-old Irene Saunders.
The museum is run by volunteers, and Ms Greenwell is hoping that others will join the team. “It is very rewarding and interesting as the museum attracts visitors from both the UK and worldwide," she said.
The village, boyhood home of a young James Cook, has many attractions associated with the distinguished navigator and explorer.
