DETECTIVES are investigating an alleged sex attack in Northallerton.
A middle-aged man was sexually assaulted by another man at about 8.30pm on Monday, April 21.
Police only released details of the complaint yesterday.
The victim was walking along a bridleway between Springwell Lane and the road between Romanby and Yafforth, an area known locally as Castle Hills.
He was approached by another man, who then sexually assaulted him. Police are anxious to speak to anyone who can provide any information relating to the assault.
A spokeswoman for North Yorkshire Police said the victim was left shaken up by the attack, but did not suffer any serious injuries.
The attacker is described as white, aged late-thirties to early forties, with slicked-back dark hair and bushy eyebrows. He was wearing dark trousers and a long-sleeved Nike sweat top.
Police are appealing for information.
