Pouring rain didn’t deter a new bike shop from opening up in Thirsk with more than 100 eager customers turning up to claim their free bacon butties and goodie bags in the first few hours.
Yorkshire Vet Julian Norton did the honours, officially opening Red Sky Bikes at Campion Square in the town. The shop is a retailer, servicing and repair centre covering urban, road, gravel, mountain and e-bikes from a range of brands.
Spokesperson Gemma Thompson said: “We are a bike shop fuelled by a genuine passion for good old-fashioned customer service and all things bikes.
"It was wonderful to see so many people on our first day, and great to see so many people supporting local, we hope everyone is now as excited about our new shop as we are.”
