A man has been left with a broken jaw after an assault at in a nightclub in the early hours of Bank Holiday Monday.
The 23-year-old man was out partying at iconic club Flares on Albert Road in Middlesbrough when he was attacked by another man.
He was punched by his attacker at around 3am, leaving him with a fractured jaw.
The man remains in hospital at James Cook University receiving treatment for his injuries, which may include surgery.
Police are now appealing for information to help find their suspect, who is described as a white male, aged around 40 years old, short and stocky, with dark hair.
A Cleveland Police spokesperson said: “Police are appealing after a man suffered a broken jaw in an assault in Flares on Albert Road, Middlesbrough, in the early hours of this morning (Monday 29 May).
“Detectives are investigating and would appeal to anyone who may have seen the incident or anyone who may have information regarding it, to call Cleveland Police on 101 quoting incident number 103109.
“Independent charity Crimestoppers can also be contacted anonymously online at or by calling 0800 555 111.”
