One person has been taken to hospital following a crash on a busy North Yorkshire road yesterday.
Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) confirmed they received a report of a cyclist falling off their bike on the A170 in Sutton Bank just before 5pm on Tuesday (June 20).
The service confirmed they dispatched an ambulance and the Yorkshire Air Ambulance to the scene of the incident.
One person was taken to Leeds General Infirmary by air ambulance.
A YAS spokesperson said: "We received a call at 16.41 to Sutton Bank on the A170 to reports of a cyclist who had fallen off their bike.
"We dispatched an ambulance and the Yorkshire Air Ambulance to the scene and the patient was airlifted to Leeds General Infirmary."
North Yorkshire Police confirmed they had closed the road in both directions following a serious collision yesterday.
An NYP spokesperson said: "Sutton Bank is closed in both directions due to a serious collision.
"Eastbound traffic directed through Osgoodby Grange area - Westbound traffic turned around.
"Please avoid the area."
Police have confirmed the road has since been reopened following the incident.
