A fun dog show held last Saturday raised funds for a hospice project in North Yorkshire.
The event, at Thirsk Auction Mart, was organised by Tracey and Bill Gilbert from Thalasgair labradors kennels and dog trainers.
Chief judge on the day was Yorkshire Vet TV star, Peter Wright, accompanied by his wife Lin, and joined as judge by Steve Swallows from BrecksPride Gundogs, Norfolk.
Best in show was Great Dane, Moose, owned and shown by Keith Stuart. Reserve best in show was Marley, shown by Maddi.
Outside the arena, there were a variety of animal and pet based stalls, and a raffle. The event was sponsored by Thirsk Auction Mart, Kong Toys for pets, Millbry Hill, and Skinners Dog Foods, while Tracy and Bill were helped by Catherine and Trevor Eastern and supported by Herriot Hospice ambassador Dr Rosie Page, daughter of James Herriot author Alf Wight. The show raised £537 for Herriot Hospice’s appeal to transform the old Lambert Hospital in Thirsk into an in-patient hospice and bereavement centre.
