A public meeting to address rural broadband issues in North Yorkshire is being held in Masham.
Hosted by councillor Felicity Cunliffe-Lister it will include a presentation from Robert Ling, director of transformation for North Yorkshire Council.
Cllr Cunliffe-Lister said Mr Ling will be explaining what the final phase of broadband roll-out for NYNet on behalf of North Yorkshire Council will deliver, and what houses and businesses will be included.
She said if people are still waiting for a connection to superfast broadband they will be looking at what the options are.
She added: “What will the central government’s Project Gigabit deliver for those left behind, particularly those in remote and hard to reach rural locations? Will it be cable, wireless or satellite? Is it worth a community applying for funding to bridge the gap?
“Robert will be joining us to answer all those questions, and more. All are welcome to attend. If you have questions you would like to raise, it would be really helpful if you could email them in advance to cllr.felicity.cunliffe-lister@northyorks.gov.uk if it relates to your property please provide your full postal address.”
The meeting is being held at Masham Town Hall at 6.30pm Wednesday, July 19.
