Musician George Boomsma, from Northallerton, has been named as one of the performers at this year's Cambridge Folk Festival, one of the most prestigious events of its kind in the UK.
The festival, from July 27 to 30, features some of the leading folk musicians in Britain.
George's unique blend of traditional folk and contemporary songwriting has won him a legion of fans across the country. His intricate fingerpicking style and soulful vocals have been compared to the likes of Bert Jansch and Nick Drake, and his songs tell stories of life, love, and the natural world.
"I'm absolutely thrilled to be playing at the Cambridge Folk Festival this year," said George. "It's been a dream of mine for a long time, and I feel incredibly honoured to have been given the opportunity to share my music with such a passionate and knowledgeable audience."
George has been working hard to build his career as a musician in recent years, playing gigs across the country and building a following through social media and online platforms. He has released three EPs to date which are all on Spotify and has just finished recording his debut album. A release date will be announced soon.
