Two cars were set on fire in a 'deliberate' act on a North Yorkshire street as flames threatened to spread to a nearby house.
Emergency services attended the incident at around 1.17am on Monday (August 21) on Sydney Avenue East, Northallerton following reports of a large-scale fire.
Both fire crews from Northallerton responded to two vehicles on fire on the driveway of a house, which spread to a two-storey end of a terrace, residential property.
In the incident, two vehicles, a Citroen van and a Peugeot 508, were destroyed by fire, while significant damage to the exterior and lean-to at a property was also sustained.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Crews used two breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets, two thermal imaging cameras, spreaders, and a hooligan tool to deal with the incident.
"The fire caused 100 per cent fire damage to a Citroen van, 80 per cent fire damage to a Peugeot 508, 100 per cent fire damage to a lean-to, and 2m by 2m of fire damage to rendering on the exterior of the property."
The fire service confirmed that all occupants were out of the property on their arrival, with no injuries sustained during the incident.
They also confirmed the cause as deliberate.
