Police are appealing for information after six vehicles were damaged when objects were thrown from a footbridge over a major A-road on Teesside.
Officers from Cleveland Police are investigating the reports of criminal damage, which saw objects thrown at vehicles from a footbridge over the A174.
Officers received six reports of incidents that happened between 6pm and 10pm on Monday, August 28.
The incidents occurred along the stretch of the A174 that passes under the overpass near Flatts Lane, the Ormesby Bank overbridge and the Stokesley Road overbridge.
No one was injured during the incident but six vehicles sustained damage including smashed windscreens, damaged windows and dents.
It was reported that a group of youths were seen on the bridge for several of the incidents.
Investigating officer PC Davison said: “This type of behaviour is wholly irresponsible and will not be tolerated. Someone could be seriously injured or even killed as a result of these mindless acts.
“I would urge anyone with information or dash cam footage to get in touch – the smallest bit of information could prove vital.”
Officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incidents or anyone who passed a group of youths standing on the overbridges of the A174 to contact PC Davison on 101.
