Firefighters were forced to break into a car after a baby had been left locked inside by its parents.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service’s incident report on Thursday (September 7) said firefighters were called to Rotary Way in Ripon at 6pm after concerns from members of the public that a baby had been left in a vehicle.
Fire crews, alongside a mechanic, managed to rescue the baby after breaking into the car with tools - with firefighters at the scene reportedly advising the parents about their future actions.

The circumstances surrounding the incident have not been revealed in detail, but Rotary Way is a short distance from Ripon Fire Station’s site on Stonebridgegate and is the location of St Michael’s Retail Park, which includes M&S Simply Food.
The incident log added: “Crews used small tools also with the assistance of a civilian mechanic at the scene.
“The baby was left in the hands of parents, advice given.”
