Hundreds attended a poignant launch event for a hospice campaign which allows people to buy a dragonfly dedicated to their loved one.
Teesside Hospice is running the campaign, which aims to raise awareness of its essential palliative care services, and runs until October 8.
More than 600 dedications have been made this year for the Dragonflies in memory appeal. On Sunday (September 10), hundreds attended the launch event for the Dragonflies installation, which is now open to the public with an interactive trail through Wynyard Hall’s Woodland Walk.
People can see the installation, make a donation and see the flight of personalised dragonflies in situ.
The installation will be manned with Teesside Hospice volunteers throughout.

A spokesperson for the hospice said it is currently seeing a continuously-high occupancy rate in its inpatient unit, as well as a younger demographics living with more complex, terminal illnesses.
Help from the public is needed now more than ever, said the spokesperson, particularly as the hospice foresees a difficult period approaching Christmas.
Unfortunately, the hospice has sold out of Dragonflies at this moment in time due to a high demand, but to donate, call 01642 811145 or visit teessidehospice.org.
