School children got the chance to meet some larger than life characters as a County Durham arts venue launched its Christmas pantomime.
Year two pupils from Green Lane Primary School in Barnard Castle followed the yellow brick road all the way to the town's Witham centre on Wednesday to greet the cast of the Wizard of Oz.
The Tom Rolphe Productions show will be staged from December 14 until Christmas Eve, Sunday, December 24.
Amy Hughes, from The Witham, said tickets are already selling well after two previous Tom Rolphe pantomimes proved hugely popular.
