An up-and-coming BBC TV pilot starring a Coronation Street actress was spotted filming at Hartlepool Headland after a stint in Whitby.
The crew of new show Smoggie Queens including Coronation Street star Alexandra Mardell were spotted at Hartlepool Headland this afternoon (October 25) filming for the upcoming series.
Mardell, 30, was spotted alongside co-stars filming inside an ice cream van despite the windy and rainy weather one year after her exit on ITV soap Coronation Street.
Snapped alongside Mardell is Mark Benton, appearing in drag. The presenter and actor is well known for his role as Daniel Chalk in the drama Waterloo Road as well as Eddie in Early Doors.
Whilst it is unknown when the pilot will air, the Hat Trick Productions show is written by some of the team behind the comedy Derry Girls which aired on Channel 4 and co-stars Phil Dunning, who also starred in smash hit comedy series Am I Being Unreasonable with Daisy May Cooper.
Pictures from the set show the crew in high spirits, laughing and joking as scenes were filmed of the cast getting in and out of the van.
Around a dozen crew members were seen buzzing around the stars whilst a portion of the path was closed off for filming.
