A by-election for the Sowerby and Topcliffe division of North Yorkshire Council has been called for Thursday, November 30.
The seat has become vacant following the resignation of councillor David Whitfield.
Residents in the Sowerby and Topcliffe division, near Thirsk, have until Tuesday, November 14, to register to vote and until 5pm on Wednesday, November 15, to apply for a postal vote.
Voters attending the polling station for the by-election will need to take photographic identification to be able to vote.
