The latest talent in a motorsporting family is about to conclude an excellent season which has seen him impress on circuits around the country.
Danny Bean, 15, from Aiskew is following in the footsteps of his father Jonathan and elder brother Charlie, both of whom were rallycross champions, except for Danny, it’s the sport of karting he is excelling at.
Having only started competing in the summer of 2022, he ended up winning the Teesside Winter Series, Teesside Junior and Rowrah Junior Championships as well as finishing runner-up in the Rowrah Junior Pro-Kart Championship despite only contesting half a season.
For 2023, Danny, who is in his final year at Bedale High School, stepped up to Senior Pro Kart, which included racing some of the best Pro-Kart racers in the UK.
He has also contested some UKIKR events up and down the country with good results in what is the Premier League of Pro-Kart sprint racing.
With backing from local businesses including Orchard Green Waste Management, Taste of India Bedale and Victoria’s Lashes, the teenager has already clinched the Rowrah Spring Series Senior Pro Kart Championship and currently leads the Senior Pro-Kart Championship at Warden Law which concludes with a double header next weekend.
Before then, he will be in action at the final round of the British Pro-Kart Endurance Championship this weekend at the Warden Law track near Sunderland which is a six-hour endurance race for the FSR Haase Racing Team with North East teammate Isaac O’Shea and Manx driver Shane Collins.
