Four people have been saved by mountain rescue after crashing on a rural road nine miles from Stokesley.
The police anticipated there would be difficulties getting there to help and called the Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team.
Two double-crewed Land Rovers were dispatched to go to the aid of the four occupants of the car.
One of the people had to walk to higher ground to raise the alarm due to poor mobile signal.
A Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team spokesperson said: "Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team were contacted by North Yorkshire Police at 9.15pm on Thursday 30th November 2023 with a request to go to the aid of four occupants of a car that had crashed in wintery conditions, approximately 9-miles east of Stokesley, midway between Kildale and Commondale.
"The police anticipated some problems in reaching the scene due to the weather and road conditions, hence the request to the volunteer mountain rescue team, which deployed two double-crewed Team Land Rovers.
"Eventually the Land Rover crews reached the accident and located the occupants who, although cold, fortunately did not need medical treatment at the scene.
"As they were stranded, the team transported them home, approximately 6-miles to the Lingdale area on the far side of the A171 Guisborough to Whitby road.
"The police were updated and advised about recovery requirements for the damaged vehicle and about damage to a wall.
"Five team members were directly involved (with nine others on standby) for just over 2.25-hours by the time they returned to their Base."
Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team is a volunteer organisation that provides search and rescue services 24 hours a day.
The team can be called on to help with any operations across the UK.
They need to raise approximately £42,000 each year to fund the activities of the charity.
