A popular family-friendly music festival staged in North Yorkshire has won a major national award.
Deer Shed, held in July at Baldersby Park, Topcliffe, was named festival of the year at the LIVE Awards in London.
LIVE is a relatively new music industry umbrella group, and the awards recognise the leading companies and individuals in the £4.5bn sector.
A spokesperson for Deer Shed said: "Thank you to all of our audience who have attended Deer Shed since we started in 2010. We cannot do it without your support.
"We are delighted to have collected this award. It is without doubt the best accolade we have ever received from the live music industry, we are mega-chuffed.
"Many thanks to the LIVE judging panel and to all the artists, staff, volunteers, crew and contractors who have got us to this point."
The 2024 festival will run from July 26 to 29, with tickets already on sale.
The first headliners have been announced, and include Bombay Bicycle Club, The Coral, and CMAT. Other acts on the bill so far are BC Camplight, The Go! Team, Los Bitchos, Stornoway, Fat Dog, Liz Lawrence, Bess Atwell, Personal Trainer, MadMadMad, Viji, Picture Parlour, Baba Ali, Home Counties, The Tubs, Frozemode, Blue Bendy, Tapir!, Cerys Hafana and Dominie Hooper.
Oliver Jones, co-founder of the festival, said: “We have been running Deer Shed since 2010 and in all that time I don’t think I can remember quite as much amazing new music in an announcement, from both established acts and brand new artists. Deer Shed 2024 will be a classic, I have no doubt.”
