Images of a river bursting its banks in the North East have been captured after strong wind and rain hit the region over the last two days.
A weather warning for strong wind and rain was issued by the Met Office yesterday (Wednesday, December 27) as the weather played havoc with the roads, trains and planes.
Hundreds of flood warnings across the UK have been issued, including 20 in the North East and North Yorkshire.
Train operator LNER, which runs services between London and Scotland on the East Coast Main Line, advised customers not to travel due to the weather.

Customers stranded by the disruption were told to book hotels which they can claim back.
Storm Gerrit comes less than a week since Storm Pia lashed parts of the UK in the countdown to the festive season.
Amid Storm Gerrit, aerial images of the River Tees bursting its banks in Yarm were captured by Northern Echo camera club member Dave Dowson.
Posting images of the river over spilling, Mr Dowson said: "Yarm was measuring 3.3m when I took these this morning. The fist photo is looking upstream at Newsham Grange, with Low Worsall out of the picture to the left."
In the images, people can be seen walking down to the riverbank, while in others, water could be seen washing into farmers' fields nearby.
