Plans have been unveiled for a new vets set to open in a town centre.
Clevedale Veterinary Practice has confirmed it is preparing to bring a new branch to South Buck Way at Cleveland Gate Retail Park, in Guisborough, in early summer this year.
The practice already has locations in Upleatham, Stokesley and Whitby.
Vet Ruth Feeney, from Guisborough, who has been with Clevedale Vets for seven years, will be leading the team at the new branch.
She will also run veterinary acupuncture clinics at the branch.
She said: “Guisborough is rapidly expanding and there is definitely a need for another practice. I am passionate about providing high-quality care for our new clients and their pets from Guisborough community.
“I have high hopes for the new site; it is in the town centre with excellent transport links, making us more accessible to those who can’t travel to our main branch in Upleatham.
“There is also parking in front of the site and some really good local businesses around it, including a bakery, brewery and a gym.”
The surgery will have four consultation rooms, a preparation area, a dispensary, laboratory, laundry and kennels as well as a break area.
The vets said they will offer comprehensive routine procedures, consultations and surgeries for pets at every stage of life, as well as provide advice on feeding, dental care, flea and worm treatment, and weight management.
There are also plans to make one of the consult rooms a ‘quiet room’ - a calm, private and less clinical space where clients can say goodbye to their pets or discuss unexpected news.
The room will have a separate exit to the rear of the property.
Practice manager Joe Keatley said: “Over the last 31 years Clevedale Veterinary Practice has established itself among the local communities in Upleatham, Stokesley and Whitby, providing care to thousands of animals every year. We have a huge demand for the quality veterinary care we provide.
“We are very confident that we will be able to develop the branch because of the demand in the area. There’s room for expansion and for the team to grow. This is an exciting time for Clevedale Vets.”
An open day for pet owners is planned for when the new site is ready to operate.
Opening times will be from Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 6pm, with a Saturday surgery at the main site in Upleatham.
