Rotarians have donated £300 to a community library following a book and postcard fair.

Anne Ash, president of Northallerton Mowbray Rotary Club, handed the cheque to trustees and volunteers at Bedale Community Library after the successful event in the town last month.

“Our fair at Bedale Hall was a huge success and it feels very fitting to support such a wonderful community library,” said Anne.

“We stage two book and postcard fairs a year at Bedale and people come from miles around to browse our 30 stalls packed with rare antiquarian and unusual, out-of-print books. We’re already making plans for our next event on Sunday, October 27.”

Bedale Community Library, a registered charity, was established in 2017 and has about 30 volunteers.
