A popular rock band left their mark at a North East venue following their ‘unforgettable show’ as they signed the doors like many prominent acts before them.

James performed at the Stockton Globe on May 31 ahead of their UK Arena Tour – with Echo audience and content editor, Andy White, praising their performance last month.

The band left a mark at the venue not just with their performance, but also penned their signature to the heritage doors.

A Stockton Globe spokesperson said: “Last week we welcomed James to Stockton Globe for a very special warm up show ahead of their UK arena tour.

"After their unforgettable set the band were kind enough to sign our heritage doors backstage!

"The original 1935 heritage doors were saved in the building’s renovations and are now on display in back-of-house areas within Stockton Globe.

“Since the venue reopened in September 2021, many acts have signed these doors and we were thrilled James could contribute to the evolving history of our venue after an unforgettable show.”

Writing on their show last week, the Echo’s Andrew White gave a glowing review.

He said: “Has there been a more consistently brilliant band over the last 40 years than James?

“It would be difficult to find another, judging by the evidence of their set at The Globe on Friday night (May 31).

“They've long been viewed as one of the best live acts around, but rather than rest on their laurels and rely on their biggest hits, this most creative of bands have continued to experiment, take risks and record new material.
