A climate-focused meeting has been called for General Election candidates in the Richmond and Northallerton constituency.

Climate Action Stokesley and Villages has organised the event in Osmotherley village hall on Friday, June 14, at 7.30pm.

It is billed as an opportunity to hear from and question candidates from the main political parties about their climate policies.

Free tickets can be booked through Eventbrite via https://casav.uk/election. Details of on-line joining will be provided.

The organisers have kept special tickets for those in the constituency who will be most affected by climate change.

A spokesperson said: "For the first election since 2008, there is no longer a political consensus on what should be done to tackle the climate and nature crises. This means that your vote will determine the urgency with which these crises are tackled."
