A footpath in Darlington has been closed for eight weeks for essential work.
The portion of North Road near Cocker Beck has been closed from June 17 until August 11.
Anyone hoping to walk down the road to Darlington North retail park will have to follow the alternative path.
The council website outlines the work as 'highway repair and maintenance works'.
The work will see the concrete slab spanning Cocker Beck being destroyed.
