Magistrates have granted a closure order for a problematic property in Darlington.

The home in Lascelles has been boarded up for three months after numerous reports of anti-social behaviour and criminal activity.

Evidence was produced in court by the East Neighbourhood Policing Team and Darlington Borough Council Housing.

The teams are said to be "delighted"  by the three month closure.

A Darlington Police spokesperson said: "A problem property on Lascelles was closed and boarded up on Wednesday, after Magistrates granted a three-month closure order following numerous reports of anti-social behaviour and criminal activity from the address.

"The East Neighbourhood Policing Team and Darlington Borough Council Housing worked closely together to secure sufficient evidence to present to the court, and were absolutely delighted with the result.
