A family charity event to raise money for the recuperation of jockey Graham Lee is set to take place next weekend.

Graham, from Bedale, North Yorkshire, became unseated from his horse Ben Macdui at Newcastle in November last year, suffering an unstable cervical fracture and damaging his spinal cord.

The fundraising event will take place at Sharp Hill Farm, Middleham, on Sunday, July 14, with activities starting at 3pm and expected to carry on late into the evening.

Also planned are a penalty shoot-out competition, raffle, tombola, and a small auction.

For ticket reservations, interested parties are advised to get in touch with Nicky McGrath on 077625-12151

Tickets are priced at £25 for adults, £15 for children while under fives are allowed free entry that includes a complimentary hog roast.

Mr Lee, 48, was a highly successful jump jockey, based in the north of England for most of his career, winning the 2004 Grand National on board Amberleigh House.
