A North Yorkshire castle has won a global award after placing in the top ten per cent of Tripadvisor listings worldwide.
Bolton Castle near Leyburn has been recognised by the widely respected travel guide community in the Travellers' Choice Awards for 2024.
This award is a result of positive visitor feedback on review website Tripadvisor.
General manager at Bolton Castle, Jacqui Naylor, said: "We are fortunate to have a marvellous team who ensure our visitor offer matches our aspirations.
"From our tower to our tea room, our visitor events and stunning gardens, we work hard to ensure our visitors leave with a fantastic time under their belts.
"To be included within the top ten per cent of visitor attractions globally is fantastic.
"We are just delighted with the award and look forward to a busy open season with something for everyone."
Travellers who have enjoyed Bolton Castle’s offerings, from its timeless tower to the enticing tea room and scenic gardens, have shared their experiences on Tripadvisor throughout the year.
Such first-hand and honest reviews are the foundation that establishes this award as a sure indicator of prime visits.
John Boris, chief growth officer at Tripadvisor, said Bolton Castle made a "memorable impact on your visitors that many of them took the time to go online and leave a great review about their experience."
The castle has also received the Bronze Award from Green Tourism, a national organisation that endorses greener practices in the travel and tourism industry.
