A North Yorkshire primary school has been recognised as one of the country’s best.

Cambrai Primary School, in Catterick, has been named a Primary School of the Year Silver Award winner in the 2024 Pearson National Teaching Awards.

Head teacher, Laura Robinson, said: “We’re overjoyed to be recognised in the National Teaching Awards. As teachers, this is like winning an Oscar – we are beyond thrilled.

“Cambrai’s success is a tribute to our amazing staff team who constantly go over and above the call of duty for our pupils, and to the incredible community we’re a part of.”

Winning a silver award means Cambrai Primary School – which is part of the Lingfield Education Trust – is also shortlisted for the coveted gold award of Primary School of the Year, the winner of which will be announced at a ceremony later this year.
