New pictures have been released showing the progress on the extension to a historic North East museum.

Stockton Borough Council have shared the latest images showing the development of Preston Park Museum’s new two-storey extension.

The council have confirmed the extension will include an exhibition spaced to showcase “nationally significant exhibitions.”

It will also house an “interactive and visible collection store” filled with unique objects.

A SBC spokesperson said: “New images show the fantastic progress of the construction of the new, modern extension to Preston Park Museum and Grounds.

“The two-storey extension will include a flexible exhibition space to showcase nationally significant exhibitions, as well as an interactive and visible collection store filled with unique objects.

“The ground floor and first floor are now in place, along with the building’s external wall support system, allowing the main wall cladding to begin.

“Internal works to the main internal walls, underfloor heating and screeding are set to begin next month.

“Work to the southern car park is also continuing and will be tarmacked at the end of August.”
