A man is due to go on trial next month after being charged with causing the death of a motorcyclist on the A684 near Bedale. in a crash in North Yorkshire.
On July 10, 2022, Gregory Newcombe, 26, from Romanby, died when the Harley Davidson he was riding was involved in a crash with a Ford Fiesta on the A-road.
Cameron Ward, 30, is charged with causing death by careless driving, causing death while driving a vehicle while unlicensed or insured, and perverting the course of justice.
Mr Ward, of Oak Drive, Sowerby, appeared at York Magistrates' Court on Thursday (July 25) but did not enter a plea.
He will now face a trial at York Crown Court, which will start on August 27.
Following the collision in July 2022, the family of Gregory Newcombe paid tribute to him at the time - describing him as a "much-loved son, brother and great friend to many".
At the time, Mr Newcombe's family said: “We are deeply saddened to announce the loss of Greg on Sunday 10 July 2022. He was a much-loved son, brother and great friend to many.
“We would like to thank the emergency services and passers-by who stopped to help and were with him as he passed away.
“We as a family are very grateful for all the messages of support and sympathy at this very difficult time.”
